The year 2025 will go down in the history of our brewery as the year of a great victory. MOVA won three awards at one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world — the European Beer Star. We brought home gold, silver, and bronze.
These are not just medals. This is the recognition of Ukrainian craft on a global level, the voice of our city and our country, which now sounds even louder.
Our victories
Pilsner — gold in the Bohemian-Style Pale Lager category. This style is a symbol of classic global brewing, and it is a great pride for us to create a pilsner that took first place among the strongest.
HAZY IPA — silver in the Hazy India Pale Ale category. A modern style that has conquered the global craft scene. Our HAZY IPA is about the courage to experiment and, at the same time, about balance.
Lager — bronze in the International-Style Lager category. The most widespread beer style, where the competition is the toughest. For us, this medal is a special confirmation that even in classic and simple things, one can create unique quality.
Each of these awards is a story that we are writing together with Ukraine.
Our path to international recognition
For MOVA, this victory became a logical continuation of our journey. In 2023, our non-alcoholic beer Dark Beer non-alcohol had already won gold at the European Beer Star. Back then, we proved that a Ukrainian product can change the perception of the "non-alcohol" category.
Now we have shown that we are strong both in classic styles and in modern interpretations. This proves that we are not afraid to combine tradition and innovation, to create something new while preserving authenticity.
About the competition
The European Beer Star is more than just a competition. It is a platform where the best of global brewing comes together. Since 2004, it has been organized by the Association of Private Breweries of Germany, and every year it receives over 2000 samples from dozens of countries around the world.
The jury evaluates beer "blind" — only by taste, aroma, and appearance. And it was in this fair tasting that we won three medals, becoming part of the world beer elite.
For us, it’s more than just awards
Each medal is not only the result of the brewery’s work but also a symbol of Ukrainian resilience and creativity. We brew beer in a city that is going through difficult times, and at the same time we believe: culture, taste, and communication are also weapons that shape the future.
The victory at the European Beer Star for us is proof that the Ukrainian voice in the world is becoming louder. It is a reminder that even in small things — in every sip of beer — one can carry a great idea.
